About Bin-jip, a wonderful movie directed by Ki-duk Kim. Some LAB 4 students asked me about my impression about Monster's Ball, one of the films recommended by our course. We realized that my vision was something different from the majority among those present. I promised them a personal explanation on some of the recommended movies as soon as I had the opportunity. This comment attempts to meet, at least partially, that will. Thanks to Víctor Rodríguez Prada, who directed this video and some more in which I will share my views about movies and architecture. 

Sobre Hierro 3, una película maravillosa dirigida por Ki-duk Kim. Algunos alumnos de LAB 4 me preguntaron por mi impresión sobre Monster's Ball, una de las películas recomendadas por nuestro curso. Nos dimos cuenta de que mi visión era algo diferente a la mayoritaria entre los presentes. Les prometí una explicación en cuanto tuviera oportunidad sobre algunas de las películas recomendadas. Este comentario intenta cumplir, al menos parcialmente, esa voluntad. Some pictures of my lecture this week at LAB 4. I have called "Water and Salt" to the first dish that will be involved in the birth of the end of the 20th Century pragmatic utopian projects. In my opinion, the "architecture of water and salt" will be needed to understand our way of looking at the world today.

Algunas imágenes de mi clase de esta semana en LAB 4. He llamado "Agua y sal" al primer plato que intervendrá en el nacimiento de los proyectos utópicos pragmáticos del final del siglo XX. LAB 4. The Change in Models of Thought after WWII (II). Guilt / El cambio en los modelos de pensamiento después de la II GM (II). Culpa

Some pictures of my lecture today at LAB 4. The second in the series of lectures on the changes in models of thought after World War II. I have called "Guilt" to the category most committed to an ethical response and more critical with the linear discourse directly articulated from the principles of the Modern Movement.

Algunas imágenes de mi clase de hoy en LAB 4. La segunda en la serie de conferencias sobre el cambios en los modelos de pensamiento después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. He llamado "Culpa" a la categoría más comprometida con una respuesta ética y más crítica con el discurso lineal articulado directamente a partir de los postulados del Movimiento Moderno.

 

LAB 4. The Change in Models of Thought after WWII (I). Seduction / El cambio en los modelos de pensamiento después de la II GM (I). Seducción

I leave here some pictures of my lecture this week at LAB4. From the events that unfolded immediately after the ending of World War II in the United States, a moment that has been represented in numerous times by the famous photograph of Alfred Eisenstaedt, the class goes into the category of "Seduction", which is, in my opinion, one of the new models of thinking that produced postwar architecture and society.

Dejo aquí algunas imágenes de mi clase de esta semana en LAB4. A partir de los acontecimientos que se desencadenaron inmediatamente después del final de la Segunda Guerra Mundial en los Estados Unidos, un momento que se ha representado en numerosas ocasiones por la famosa fotografía de Alfred Eisenstaedt, la clase se adentra en la categoría de la Seducción, que es, en mi opinión, uno de los nuevos modelos de pensamiento que produjeron la arquitectura y la sociedad de posguerra.

Javier Carvajal 1957 Our Lady of The Angels in Vitoria-Gasteiz / Javier Carvajal 1957 Nuestra Señora de Los Ángeles en Vitoria-Gasteiz

My lecture yesterday at the hall of assemblies of the Our Lady of The Angels parish church built by Javier Carvajal in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Spain) was very exciting. Many friends came to pack out a space able to accommodate 500 people. Many thanks to all, especially Ramon, F. Michel, Jorge, Iñaki, Marieta and many more.

I share on my Facebook Page some pictures that I took with my cell phone before the lecture. A 55 years-old building that continues to be an effective outdoor public space and, in the inside, a beautiful room of the air.

Mi conferencia de ayer en la sala de asambleas de la iglesia parroquial de Nuestra Señora de Los Ángeles construida por Javier Carvajal en Vitoria-Gasteiz fue muy emocionante. Muchos amigos abarrotaron un espacio con capacidad para 500 personas. Muchas gracias a todos, especialmente a Ramón, P. Michel, Jorge, Iñaki, Marieta y muchos más.

He compartido en mi página de Facebook algunas fotografías que tomé con mi móvil antes de la conferencia. Un edificio construido hace 55 años que continúa siendo un efectivo espacio público y, en el interior, una hermosa habitación de aire.
